This virus and this global pandemic, like all calamities that have come before, will pass. It will run its course. It will have the effect it is designed to have. Then, it will pass into the annals of history. Life will re-emerge in a new and hopefully, better form. We shall speak of it often. Some, in hushed tones. Others, with tears and yet others, with reflections. Through it all, we would have learned a thing or two about ourselves, about each other and about our world.

Every knee shall bow. Some, to the unknown God. Others, to the God of their choice and yet more, will bow and prostrate before the eternal throne of Grace.

Do not be discouraged. Do not abandon hope. Though we cower now at the sight of tidal waves and run for the hills in pursuit of our shadows, yet, it is not the appointed time nor the moment of rapture. We do not know the mind of the Almighty nor can we gaze into the future even as we seek to shrink from the abyss.

However, we can prepare ourselves – mind body and soul. Times like this call for a realignment of our values and the things we hold dear and true. Such moments invite us to strengthen families, entrench love and cement loyalties. Let us, in the holy name of God, seek understanding and trust again. Real trust. Personal trust. When this is over and hopefully, we shall abide the passing of time and not pass in its wake, we will, once again, sing and speak with one voice. Many shall pass but, great shall be those that tarry.

Do not be afraid. Be comforted. Be at peace. The peace that passes all understanding. Always.

May God, in His infinite mercies and grace, bless you for who you are and for what you are.

We shall yet live even as we have survived all previous terrible experiences. May God grant us the wisdom to accept the things we cannot change. Courage to change the things we can and the wisdom to know the difference.
